Title: Dig Deeper
Authors: Andrew and Nigel

Just as the book title suggests, the book gives readers tools that help unearth the truths of the gospel in the Bible. The book might not have exhausted all the tools to use when reading the word of God but these are the most useful tools that I found in my study of the word.

This book has been written in a pretty simple language that is comfortable for any person to understand either a professor or a primary school kid.
This book identifies with some mistakes that we commonly make in the text. A good example that I found being funny and educative is when someone tries to find a hidden meaning in Paul asking for his coat/cloak in 2 Timothy 4:13 which has no hidden meaning it is only that winter was approaching and it was getting cold. The book has worked out examples of the text (Bible verses) this helps the reader understand better.

The tool that really triggered my mind is the tool on "Linking words" which is in chapter 5 of the book. This tool has really helped me to understand how to read the word and also to get the message from a text with linking words like "therefore", "but" etc.

This book has really changed my way of studying the word of God. I would recommend this book to any person who wants to know how to read the word effectively.

Book Review,
Book Title: Dig Deeper
Authors:
Nigel Beynon and Andrew Sach
In this book the writers said that it’s a matter of interpretation. We have been conditioned to think like that and it’s part of the whole philosophical movement called, ‘postmodernism’, which teaches that when I come to a piece of literature such as the Bible, what matters is not what it means, but what it means for me. And that might be different from what it means for you. Hence that’s OK.
The authors argument in dig deeper book is, several tools that will help us to approach, read and interpret the bible correctly, in which the joy of interpreting it correctly is that; we will be able to hear the voice of heavenly father speaking to us, we will learn who God is like from his own lips, we will discover the wonderful truth of salvation and how to be sure of heaven, find out the thing that are on God’s heart what really matters to him about this world and his will for your life. Knowing the truth from the Bible changes you.
I like the way it has been divided into different tools and the language used is easy to understand. In chapter one I was made to understand that reading the bible is like picking up phone and discovering your creator on the other end of the line God is speaking as we read bible.
I found all tools helpful to the reader of the bible like; the author’s purpose tool which helps us to know the aim why that specific passage was written, the context tool which helps to ask how any part of scripture fits with what comes before and after, the linking word tool that is word like if, since, consequently, for this reason, therefore and because helps to link the passage you have read with what comes before and after, thus helping you get the meaning of the scripture, the structure tool which helps us to consider a whole passage instead of isolated verse, the so what tool which helps to get the application of the scripture in our lives by asking question like what it means for me, for others Christian and unbelievers and many other tools.
I also learnt that after sharing we should pray in light with words and also give thanks in light with the passage. I found it a nice book so I recommend it to other Christian for it will challenge them not to misinterpret bible but it will help them to approach it as God own words.
It also challenged the way is used to apply the word , the book helped me understand that in application I should ask question such as; do I need to change something ?, is there some aspect of my behavior that must change? , is it something new that I should doing?, how does it tell me to think?, so I recommend it to other Christians.
Finally I recommend it for it teachs that biblical word view leads to biblical behavior.
